يحتفل العالم اليوم الأربعاء باليوم العالمي للمعلم في 5 أكتوبر من كل عام، وقد حدد هذا التأريخ للاحتفال بالمعلم في عام 1994 من القرن الماضي وذلك احتفالًا بتوصية منظمة العمل الدولية في اليونسكو التابعة للأمم المتحدة بخصوص تحسين وضع المعلمين في العالم .
فهي تعتبر البداية لوضع معايير وأسس محددة للمعلمين في دول العالم وقد قدمت بعض التوصيات بشأن المعلمين، منها:
وضع سياسات التعليم والتوظيف والتدريب.
توفير التعليم المستمر للمعلمين وتوظيفهم.
مراعاة ظروف عملهم.
فيما يكون الهدف من تخصيص يوم المعلم العالمي إلى تقديم كل التقدير وتقييم المعلمين وتحسين أحوالهم في جميع دول العالم، وكذلك الاهتمام بجميع شؤونهم والقضايا المتعلقة بهم أثناء الخدمة التعليمية لهم وبعد التقاعد ومن باب “وما جزاء الإحسان إلا الإحسان” .

وقد يشهد العراق وعدد من الدول النامية تراجع كبير في الاهتمام بالمعلم مما ينعكس سلبا على التقدم والازدهار التعليمي في تلك البلاد مما يضع الملف أمام السلطات مراجعة ذلك بكل مسؤولية وأمانة كي يصلح الأساس وتبنى الأوطان بالشكل الصحيح والحضاري المعاصر.

كل عام والمعلم أساس العلم بخير وافر ..
شكرآ لمن غرس بذرة العلم، لنحصد ثمارها الآن في بناء وإزدهار الأوطان

Today, Wednesday, the world celebrates World Teachers’ Day on October 5 of each year. This date was set for the celebration of the teacher in 1994 of the last century, in celebration of the recommendation of the International Labor Organization at UNESCO of the United Nations regarding improving the status of teachers in the world.
It is considered the beginning of setting specific standards and foundations for teachers in countries of the world and has made some recommendations regarding teachers, including:
Develop education, employment and training policies.
Providing continuing education for teachers and their employment.
Take into account their working conditions.
While the goal of allocating the International Teacher’s Day is to provide all appreciation and evaluation of teachers and improve their conditions in all countries of the world, as well as to take care of all their affairs and issues related to them during their educational service and after retirement, and in the sense of “and the reward for good is only charity.”

Iraq and a number of developing countries may witness a significant decline in the interest in teachers, which will negatively affect the educational progress and prosperity in those countries, which puts the file before the authorities to review this with all responsibility and honesty in order to fix the foundation and build the homelands in the correct and modern civilized manner.
Every year and the teacher is the basis of knowledge in abundance..
